Zandra Rhodes began her career studying textile design at Medway College of Art and later the Royal College of Art. Her unconventional textiles shocked British manufacturers, and so Rhodes began creating her own garments to suit her fabric designs during the late 1960s. She considers her screen-printed “Lilies of the Field” design, shown here, to be among her best work.
