Wesley Tann established his New York design firm in 1960. Working on Seventh Avenue since the early 1950s, Tann designed sophisticated, immaculately-crafted clothes, such as this simple, chic coat. Women’s Wear Daily called his fine workmanship a joy. He attracted leading department stores, as well as the attention of celebrities such as Diahann Carroll and Jacqueline Kennedy.
