The female “power dresser” of the mid-eighties used fashion to express affluence, authority, and self-assurance. Form-fitting, tailored suits shaped the figure and suggested a woman confident in her sexuality. Shoulder pads, supporting strong bold-shouldered looks, became an indispensable fashion accessory. Hats returned as audacious sartorial statements to create a head-to-toe look that spoke of confidence and power.
DescriptionBlack suit; jacket and skirt in cotton twill; double breasted suit jacket with slightly oversize upper bodice shirred at form fitting waist cincher / peplum panel; form fitting straight skirt with foundation girdle-like seaming at front and back and faux box pleat / double kick pleat at back hem
