Man's jacket
c. 1959
Blue cotton denim, black corduroy, and striped wool
Gift of Leo Lerman
Object number87.130.1
This jacket is an adaptation of Lee’s “Storm Rider,” which was first introduced in 1933. Distinctive for its blanket lining and corduroy collar, its popularity skyrocketed when Marilyn Monroe was photographed wearing a “Storm Rider” jacket on the set of the film The Misfits. The version seen here is not by Lee, but dates from around the time of the film. The length and front details differ from the Lee version, while the blanket lining and corduroy collar remain the same.
