Black wool crepe and polished steel plates
Gift of Ms. Liz Bader
Object number87.92.4
Pierre Cardin combined his Space Age style with the brashness of the sexual revolution in this revealing mini dress. A symbol of youth culture, minis were becoming shorter seemingly by the hour. In 1967, Time magazine identified four categories of skirt length: micro-mini, micro-micro, “Oh My God,” and “Hello, Officer.”
