Long sleeves and bold shoulders were fashionable for evening dresses during the early to mid 1940s. This dramatic design has a triangle of sheer fabric that alludes to bare skin. Sequins of varying size were used to create trompe l’oeil ribbons that wrap the body and which appear to be flowing.
