Christian Dior debuted his first collection, Corolla (soon to become known as the “New Look”), in February 1947. Over the next ten years, Dior dominated Paris fashion. The classic styling of this tailored coatdress combines his self-professed “love of architecture and clear-cut design” with his predilection for femininity, as evidenced by the small waist and expansive skirt.
