Valentino Garavani opened his Roman atelier in 1959. His career spanned nearly five decades, and he earned a reputation as one of Italy’s greatest couturiers by cultivating a supremely elegant aesthetic. His final haute couture show ended in signature high style, with a procession of dresses–including this example–in his distinctive shade of Valentino Red.
