This ensemble references both historical dress and street culture. The bi-colored fabric recalls medieval heraldry, while the articulated elbow and kneepads allude to armor and skateboarding gear. These design elements are also characteristically 1980s: vivid colors were popular and the garment’s body-conscious fit would showcase a fashionable, athletic physique.
