During the 1980s and 1990s, the fashion industry came under sharp criticism for its use of fur. Reacting in part to pressure from organizations like PETA, designers began creating faux fur garments, such as this Jean Paul Gaultier top. However, this alternative to real fur has been associated with harmful chemical effects on the environment. Top is shown with JPG skirt, P87.47.1
