Neoprene was first used to make wetsuits in 1952. Waterproof and breathable, neoprene is warm, and helps improve performance by maintaining the body’s core temperature in the water. Although neoprene itself is flexible, the strategic use of light nylon in this example would have enhanced a wearer’s range of motion.
