Chipp, an offshoot of the firm J. Press, was distinctive for its incorporation of bold color—known as the "Go-to-Hell look." Its Shetland sweaters came in saturated hues, such as coral, hot pink, and lemon yellow; Chipp’s jackets were made using wild tweeds and embroidered citrus colors.
