This versatile day dress would have been worn in the morning or for casual afternoons in the suburbs. The ready-to-wear design features Jacques Fath’s signature couture flourishes—including an asymmetric closure, oversized lapel, and side-draped bow. Fath’s lucrative partnership with a New York manufacturer allowed him to dress fashionable American women of moderate means.
