Vionnet achieved the relaxed drape of this informal gown by using the same bias construction techniques that she employed for her most complicated creations. Even the sash was cut on the bias, resulting in a smooth wrap and elegant bow. The dress was owned by Aimee Heeren, an international socialite selected for Eleanor Lambert’s Best Dressed List. Heeren wore couture for all occasions, including the most casual, and this dress reflects her playful side.
