Space Age fashion, led by couturiers André Courrèges, Pierre Cardin, and Paco Rabanne, was a French iteration of youth-driven fashion. Inspired by the Atomic Age and the Space Race, these styles were widely copied during the mid to late 1960s. Their smooth surfaces, geometrics, metals, and plastics broke with traditional femininity, expressing optimism for technology and the future.
