This coat is made from Dakala Cloth, a new Nigerian textile hand-loomed from upcycled denim fabrics, created by Nkwo Onwuka through her NKWO Design Studio. She notes, “Africa has a long history of producing textiles and for as long as this tradition has existed, stories have been woven and dyed into the fabric … When we developed our Dakala Cloth our mood was very much about a call for climate action and the story we were telling was one of conservation, preservation and innovation.”
