Ralph Rucci’s gestural, abstract paintings have been exhibited all over the world, but he is still better known as a couturier. He works in New York but upholds historic Parisian couture traditions. Curator Patricia Mears describes his fashion design as “a grand visual epic, an evolving artistic narrative.” This hand-painted dress combines his talents, the delicate brushstrokes complementing the masterful construction.
