Audrey Smaltz wore this Scott Barrie gown as commentator for the Ebony Fashion Fair in 1971. The touring show of haute couture and high fashion was established in 1958 as one of the only platforms available for Black models. Smaltz, remembered as the fair’s most entertaining announcer, accompanied director Eunice Johnson to Paris to purchase haute couture.
