Adrian was renowned for his sharply tailored suits. While the term “power dressing” today is often associated with the shoulder-padded suits of the 1980s, the dominant style of the 1940s was also a “masculine” proportioned suit. Broad shouldered jackets paired with narrow-hipped skirts minimized the “feminine” curves of the wearer.
