Gift of Yohji Yamamoto
Object number2005.58.2
In this collection, an exercise in "doing something graphic," Yohji Yamamoto took triangles of material and linked them together with metal rings a la Paco Rabanne. The effect was to emphasize the moving body underneath the articulated bodice.
DescriptionGraphic evening dress with asymmetrical openwork bodice of blue chambray (jeans, jean) triangles (polygons, shapes, pieces) linked with metal rings in diamond-grid; contrast long flowing black skirt semi-attached to bodice with metal ringsCollections
