Jules François Crahay left Nina Ricci for the house of Lanvin in 1963. Women’s Wear Daily immediately enthused that Crahay was “uninhibited, young and not reminiscent.” From his first collection, the couturier established an aesthetic that was simultaneously bold and romantic, exemplified by this evening gown with its unique matching hood.
DescriptionFuschia pink chiffon gown; bias cut flared strapless shift slightly shirred into neckline; two fabric layers, full off white organza drop lining, crepe slip, boned corset, attached at upper edge; center back zipper, slip zipper, one hook and eye, 8 corset hook and eye closure. Matching hood; tucked into rhinestone neckband with round rhinestone and purple stone front buckle. Couture.
