The 1980s were about status, power, and excess, a theme perfectly expressed by Lacroix's lavishly patterned violet and purple evening dress. A century earlier, "Bishop's violet" and "Cardinal purple" evoked ecclesiastical splendor. This dress was selected for the collection by Christian Lacroix. It was runway model 31 and was worn on the runway by Marie Martinez Seznec. The floral silk taffeta was printed specifically for Christian Lacroix. The name of this haute couture dress is "a la folie."
DescriptionA la folie short light purple evening dress in a printed silk taffeta with white daisies and purple and magenta flowers.
