During the 1990s, many high fashion brands moved away from using real fur, thanks in large part to activist groups like PETA. But this did not stop the desire for the look of fur. Dolce & Gabbana exaggerates the eye-catching quality of fur with a tiger print, embracing the faux quality of the material. This complicates the “status” of the coat – it is an expensive designer item, but made of imitation material.
