This voluminous coat combines gilded, guipure-like lace with a utilitarian, bomber style vest. Chitose Abe’s designs are hybrid constructions that embrace heterogeneity. For spring 2016, her signature style incorporated “distortion” to create new shapes. The collection referenced an eclectic mix of sources, including lingerie, western bandanas, embroidered handkerchiefs, and famed NYC gay dance club, Paradise Garage.
