Designer Natalie Chanin founded her label in rural Alabama in 2006. She employs local artisans to hand-sew and embellish stunningly elaborate, made-to-order garments, using a combination of old and new craft techniques. The label epitomizes the “slow fashion” movement, and design theorist Hazel Clark lauds it as “a new kind of couture.”
