A protégé of Rei Kawakubo, Junya Watanabe has developed a style that often draws on technology. With this dress, he utilizes a plethora of zippers in a highly unconventional way, and his combination of metal and textile is oddly reminiscent of much early armor. Through their placement, the zippers also reference jewelry.
