Scaasi was not a designer to shy away from color. This dynamic evening dress, made from exquisite floral silk chiné of deep oranges and greens, with bold cuts and shaping, exemplifies the allure of Scaasi. It is typical of his early designs, which used bright large-scale patterned silks an interesting cuts rather than heavy trim. When asked the theme of 1981 collection, Scaasi's simple reply was "to make pretty clothes."
