Inspired by 16th-century Persian textiles, this fabric is an exotic counterpoint to a seemingly prim silhouette. Although the jacket is reminiscent of a schoolgirl's uniform, the dress has a bare neckline. Chanel subverts expectations by injecting the foreign into the familiar. The result is an atypical version of the classic Chanel suit.
