​The rules of fashion were changing rapidly during the 1960s, but practical, stylish suits endured. While working with designer Gérard Pipart at Nina Ricci during the 1960s, Geneviève Dariaux wrote that chic French women still wore suits in the mornings. Afternoon dresses, however, had been all but replaced by less formal sweaters and skirts.
