Date: Spring/Summer 2016
Country: USA

Kerby Jean-Rayond wore this “They Have Names” T-shirt to his spring 2016 fashion show, which he dedicated to the Black Lives Matter movement. The shirt memorializes thirteen unarmed black men killed by police officers. Jean-Raymond was inspired by his own experiences of unwarranted police aggression. He does not consider himself an activist, yet his deeply personal designs consistently express a highly-developed political consciousness.
