Issey Miyake conducted four collaborations with guest artists for his Pleats Please collection. For this dress, Yasumasa Morimura created an image that combines a neoclassic painting—Ingres’ Le Source (1856)—with an inverted photograph of himself. He used computer technology to superimpose this image and to correct for image distortion that would occur in the pleating process.
