This gown, donated by Vogue editor Janet Chatfield-Taylor, has a compelling story: it was designed by the famed illustrator Marcel Vertès, made in the workshops at Saks Fifth Avenue, and worn to a gala held at the Waldorf Astoria to benefit the American Red Cross War Fund.
