Label Text:Scott Barrie established Barrie Sport Ltd. in 1969. According to the New York Times, “Mr. Barrie soon proved himself a master at draping jersey and chiffon in modern ways that appealed to youthful customers.” He was among the first black designers to become well-known in American fashion.
