Label Text:The long-established house of Caroline Reboux specialized in millinery but also sold ready-to-wear clothing. The swirl-pleated neckline on this cape mimics the folding technique used to achieve Reboux’s molded and streamlined hats. Feathers soften the columnar silhouette, adding a sense of lightness and whimsy as they flutter about the wearer. In 1933, Vogue declared, “Suddenly feather capes are all the rage.”
