Label Text:This casual yet sophisticated suit demonstrates Lelong's interest in creating the sporty, functional styles he referred to as "kinetic design." These styles often alluded to the modern concepts of motion and speed, shown here in the soft, swinging pleats of the skirt and the bold, Art Deco stripes of the sweater. Elegant sportswear was essential for the typical Lelong client, who spent much of her leisure time at fashionable resorts.
