Label Text:Pink was a fashionable color for girls and women in the 19th century. In Louisa May Alcott's novel, Little Women (1868), "Amy put a blue ribbon on the boy and a pink one on the girl, French fashion, so you can always tell." Yet the pink/blue code was only firmly established after World War II.
