DescriptionLong asymmetrical evening sheath in light purple silk jersey draped with shirred seams; beige chiffon bodice panel encrusted over left breast with silver and gold beadwork; long right dolman batwing sleeve, extending as capelet to left wrist; costume for MGM film, Lovely To Look At.
Label Text:Adrian manipulated silk jersey to accentuate the body in this costume design from his final film, Mervyn LeRoy’s "Lovely to Look At" (1952). He created the hood by pleating the fabric on the bodice, allowing it to expand as it draped over the wearer’s head. The fabric contracted around the wrist to form the semblance of a sleeve.
