DescriptionBlue satin bolero jacket with single loop and tie on either side of center front open oval neckline with darted inset cape sleeve, center front meets and curves to hem with forward shoulder seam with zigzag seaming across shoulder blades with top piece on cross grain, multi blue ostrich feather collar was possibly added at later date
Label Text:By the 1930s, elaborate displays of exotic plumes had fallen out of favor, due in part to a number of anti-plumage initiatives, such as the Migratory Bird Act of 1913 and the Plumage act of 1921, which outlawed the trade of rare bird feathers. Ostrich plumes, however, were promoted as a desirable “humane” alternative. In 1933, Vogue magazine noted that ostrich feather capes were “all the rage.”
