DescriptionLong pink rayon floral printed lounging robe, wrap style with flared, trained skirt; long cape style sleeves squared at cap, with scalloped edge at open seam; attached tie belt
Label Text:During World War Two, rayon became an especially important fabric for lingerie, as silk and cotton were scarce. Made of inexpensive, printed rayon, this lounging robe features subtly luxurious details, such as hand-finished sleeves. Some lingerie manufacturers from this time decreed that robes were “necessary” to women’s wardrobes, as they could be worn during nighttime air raids.
