Label Text:Halter-neck gowns became fashionable during the 1930s. Although a revealing neckline was most commonly used for evening dresses and swimsuits, it was also well-suited to intimate apparel. The intricately woven silk used to make this example has a “patchwork” pattern, providing texture and visual interest without interrupting the gown’s streamlined silhouette.
