DescriptionPale orange crepe late day dress with armhole fringe bands of self petals and purple velvet flowers, high boat neck; bias cut; bodice shirred into inset inverted V midriff piece; snap-on short bell sleeves; floor length, slightly flared, with back pieced at knee level; LS snaps. Self tube belt with silvertone metal and rhinestone clasp.
Label Text:The short flutter sleeves of this dress are removable. Vogue described a similar example as “a familiar method of gaining additional service from an elaborate afternoon dress,” since the elimination of the sleeves could elevate a style to eveningwear. Bands of ruffles, flowers, or other dense trimmings cleverly disguised snap fastenings.
