Label Text:Bathing boots were worn from the late nineteenth century to the 1930s, before walking barefoot on the beach became acceptable. Even in the 1920s—when women’s bathing suits could be as short as mid-thigh—decorum usually required that this boot style be worn with knee-high stockings
