Label Text:Denim has appeared in Vivienne Westwood’s work throughout her career, from her groundbreaking boutiques to her runway collections. This particular example dates from the mid-1980s. In it, Westwood plays on the construction of a Levi’s® 507 jacket, altering the proportions in a disorienting way. It now drapes around the wearer’s body, and the patch pockets have been enlarged and moved to the wearer’s shoulders, almost like epaulets.
