Label Text:Each individual sequin on Norman Norell’s glittering Mermaid dress was hand-stitched and reinforced, an example of the technical skill and quality of craftsmanship that define his work. Often considered the best in American ready-to-wear, Norell’s clothing was at one time the most expensive produced in the United States.
