This rare and important Dior dress was donated to The Museum at FIT by Lauren Bacall. Harper’s Bazaar reported that its “glimmering butterfly print” was designed by the photographer Brassai, and was carried by Henri Bendel. It was featured on the cover of Life, worn by French model Sylvie Hirsch.
