Label Text:This polo dress is one of numerous styles that Sonia Rykiel adapted from athletic wear. The inspiration for this dress – the polo shirt – is a French design, created by the tennis player Rene Lacoste during the 1920s. Audrey Hepburn, an enthusiastic Rykiel client, modeled a similarly sporty knit dress for American Vogue in 1966.
