Label Text:Some fashion journalists insisted that Chanel’s 1960s designs were not “young” enough, yet her work maintained its appeal. A 1963 New York Times article included an interview with Elie Jacobson, owner of the hip Parisian ready-to-wear boutique Dorothée Bis, in which he lamented that “no matter what [young French women] are shown, they want Chanel.”
