Label Text:This early 1970s ensemble has an easy, relaxed fit in contrast to the sharp tailoring of the trouser ensembles that its donor, actress Lauren Bacall, preferred earlier in her career. Bacall often favored menswear-inspired garments. French designer Emanuel Ungaro launched his first menswear collection, Ungaro Uomo, in 1973, the same year he also participated in the “Battle of Versailles,” which was a famous fashion show staged to raise money for the restoration of the famous French palace.
