DescriptionPleats Please long sleeve column dress in pleated polyester in beige / taupe and orange pleated polyester, photo printed front and back with the artist Yasumasa Morimura's computer generated image of his own photo superimposed on the legs of the classical nude painting The Source by Ingres; ankle length, high stand collar
Label Text:Issey Miyake conducted four collaborations with guest artists for his Pleats Please collection. For this dress, Yasumasa Morimura created an image that combines a neoclassic painting—Ingres’ Le Source (1856)—with an inverted photograph of himself. He used computer technology to superimpose this image and to correct for image distortion that would occur in the pleating process.
