Label Text:“Men can dress sensibly,” wrote Elizabeth Hawes in a 1941 Click Magazine article, “if they will only forget tradition and buy clothes as wisely as women.” The designer believed men should break free from the restrictive business suit and shirt with its tight collars. Through her own designs, she sought to offer men a more stylish and comfortable alternative.
